Otterburn's population in the last census was 24,510. Otterburn is host to the nationally rare British native White-Clawed Crayfish. The annual ten-day Otterburn Festival, starts on the first Friday in July. The Otterburn Valley Walkway is an 18 mile (29 km) footpath.
